Elizabeth 'Lizzy' Soglin
Properties Designer |
Elizabeth Soglin holds a BFA in Theatre Design and Technical Production with a focus on props from Western Michigan University. She is also a proud alum of the Professional Apprenticeship Program at The Juilliard School, where she trained as a Props Artisan. Her work was featured in productions across the Drama, Music, and Dance Divisions.
Lizzy highly values the collaborative nature of props, enjoying the opportunity to work with designers, technicians, directors, stage managers, and performers to support the vision of the story being told. She loves finding (or creating) the perfect prop that can transform the very world of the production, and she appreciates that no two days in props are ever the same. She made her professional debut as the Properties Designer at the Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts in 2018 and was thrilled to return for a second season the following summer. Since then, Lizzy has worked on plays, musicals, and operas, in Michigan, Indiana, New Jersey, New York, and even created theme park decor in Virginia. Shortly after completing her BFA, she was a member of the props team for the Off-Broadway premiere of Little Girl Blue at New World Stages. After her completing her apprenticeship at The Juilliard School, Lizzy ran away with the circus and is currently touring with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey on the Props and Logistics teams. She is extremely passionate about bringing the Greatest Show on Earth across the country to children of all ages. When she isn’t on the road, Lizzy is based in New York City. Originally from suburban Chicago, she loves both cities but fiercely maintains that Chicago does pizza better.
